Playing after Spaying?

Kola got spayed on Friday, and we got her back yesterday. Last night she started to fight with Shunka twice, which is amazing, because she never seems to start the fights.
This morning, when I was giving the kitty his food, she started to growl at the cat. (Which is HUGE because she's always trying to play with the cat, and she gets hissed at.)
I haven't really exercised her much, but I'm not keeping her in her crate much. Her stitches look better than Shunka's did. I've been trying to pick her up before going up and down the stairs, but could it be the pain and stitches to make her so snappish? Is it her lack of exercise? (She's a very high energy dog.)
How much exercise is too much?

Re: Playing after Spaying?

I kept my dog in a crate for the first 4-5 days (until the skin had healed together) and away from the other dogs/cat. She only went out to potty and eat, even then separated from the other animals.
