Lol, with how sneaky and devilish those little weasels are I wouldn't hesitate to do the same. I don't know if people actively check the smaller animals for chips...but it would still make me feel better to know they had one.

Re: Microchip Works

Glad you got your dog back RonE....they sure found her fast!

IN the reptile world i know that a few big name people have chipped their animals...for the other great reason for chippin'.....

...theft.

Some of these snakes are worth tens of thousands of dollars...

If som'one steals your dog they can always rip the collar off.... especially in california where theft of small pure breds is Huge, its nice to have a backup just in case.

Canadian Dog is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: Microchip Works

Glad you got your Molly back safe and sound so quickly due to the chip. My Molly also has one.

I don't know if this is true or not. I heard dogs don't have any sense of time and that's why your dogs were so excited to see each other. Feel free to correct me if anyone has more info.

I've heard that too, CD. I heard it from a human, not a dog, so I guess it's a theory, but my own observations would seem to support that.

How many of us have taken the garbage out and returned to a dog that acted like she hasn't see us in a month?

Re: Microchip Works

Thats great Molly is back! I had a situation happen this summer with Katie and thanks to the chip I didn't know she had I got her back. I had adopted her out to a family in a near by town and she got loose. I received a call from PA where the AB rescue is out of and they had got a call from NY Humane Society that the rescue got her from stating she was in a pound in CT. So getting the call I knew what pound she was in and I got her back in an hour. All because of one little chip I didn't know she had and I never gave them much thought. From now on all my dogs will be chipped without a doubt!
