At about noon today I drove by and the front porch light was on...I was so psyched! No cable but don't know if it will be on soon or not. Charging up my cordless phone. No food but I can sleep in my own bed. My mom lives in a retirement building and I rented a guest apt from them for the last 2 days...it got pretty hot and didn't cool down in the evening. It's good to be home...now I just have to clean up all the dirt and leaves that came into the house when the doors were open. I can handle that to have power restored.
I hope others who were effected by the storm are doing well and I know that SE Texas will bounce back from Ike...it's what Texans do.
Thanks all. The Motley Crew came through just fine. I didn't spend a whole lot of time at home and they missed me a lot (well, the dogs did...not sure about the cat !) I know they are glad I'm home because the dogs follow me EVERYWHERE I go. I felt so guilty leaving them when it was hot but they did ok. Daja shed a bunch so I know she was stressed. She went to day care last week and I think I will take her one day this week as well.
