Question!

I hope this is in the right area. My Mom and Dad took a Summer job up north and it's in town, so I can walk to stores, etc. 95% of them welcome dogs. I'll only be allowed to walk with Zeus or my parents. I'm worried that Zeus may be protective and if some ignorant person just comes up and pet Zeus that he'll take a lunge at them. He came from New York to be a K-9, but it didn't work out so we took him. He's now mine. He's had Handler Protection, and I'm trying to get him protection training. Should I put a muzzle on him while I'm walking, and see if I can find a dog vest that says "stay away, please don't pet" or something?

Thanks!

You may want to start working on socializing him on walks, and later in parks and other open air areas before going into the confines of a store that would be crowded and possibly an overstimulating environment right off the bat.

How about you wearing a t-shirt saying "People don't like to be petted by strangers, neither does my dog." Or something like that.
