Tropical Storm Edouard

Well, the dogs are drugged, I'm at work and just waiting to see how bad it gets. It hit Beaumont and we (Houston) should have rain all day. Hopefully, there won't be heavy HEAVY rains so I can get home. The dogs should be calm all day (especially Roxxy).

Keeping my fingers crossed.

I know Houston gets some terrible flooding. Are you in a flood zone?
We had to deal with Dolly a couple weeks ago and that was my fear too - getting home. Last year we had heavy rains and I couldn't. I was in a state of panic trying to get home to my dogs. The waters were too deep and I couldn't make it. Thank goodness my husband did. We had 20" of water in our house and he was able to get the dogs upstairs.

Anyway, hope all goes well for you and the 'kids'.

Re: Tropical Storm Edouard

I called my neighbor and while it has been raining hard it hasn't been a downpour (and no where within my driving to and from work). Plus, we haven't have much rain lately so I don't think the flooding will be in Houston "proper" but in the surrounding areas. I was, however, hoping to be able to go home early...not gonna happen!

Yeh, Roxxy really gets the "glassy-eyed" look. She has started freaking out when it rains even without thunder. Daja and Butch didn't get much, just enough to mellow them. They are both ok when I'm home, but I really wasn't sure what was going to happen here.

I'm watching the noon news and they said it's not packing much of a punch at all.

Works for me! But I think Beaumont got "punched" earlier this morning. We do need the rain...

I hope anyone else in the path of this storm does ok and that isn't as bad they thought...

Re: Tropical Storm Edouard

Well, this was a non-event! I got maybe 1.5 inches if that much. My back yard is not a lake so I know it wasn't too bad here. The dogs were their usual excited self when I got home and Mortimer was...well, Mortimer! He rarely expresses anything but disdain but then, he is a cat!

All's well that ends well. Sending the clouds and cooler weather to those of you who are sick of the heat in Texas. It's only 82 now and is to get down to the mid 70's by morning! Woohooo...a cold front is here!
