Hello! After using this forum to ask some questions about breeds, and after lots and lots of research of reading and asking friends, we're thinking of getting a Welshie. (If you have one, please feel free to tell me all about your dog! )
We're looking for a Welshie breeder in the Southwest and are looking for any recommendations. Has anyone had a positive experience and can recommend us to someone? We're open to adult dogs as well as puppies... What sort of questions should I be asking a breeder? (genetic disease. if dogs are house or outside dogs, socialization) I spoke with one breeder and she was somewhat hostile so i'm a little unsure of what i should be saying. We're wondering what other things we should be asking about purebred dogs? We're not interested in breeding or showing, but we want to be educated well informed buyers. Thanks for any help.

These guys are NEAT dogs. Have you joined http://www.welshspringers.com/welshh/ - it's the only Welshie email list I can find. Your other good thing is to hit some dog shows, join (or at least contact) the natoinal breed club, and meet the people who *ARE* showing- because many of them will be breeders, and the ones who aren't will know how to find them.
