for the past 3 weeks my dog has been limping, on 3 different legs. first was his back right leg, then back left, now right front. he has no physical abnormalities at all, ot even in his pads. he also has no real pain to touching or squeezing. he spends about 2-3 days limping, then slowly starts putting weight back on it, is fine for a day or so, then starts limping on another leg. he is eating fine, stools are normal. hsi energy level is good. he doesnt seem very deterred by the limping. any have any idea what this could be?

Sounds like a spinal alignment problem. What did the vet say about this?

how old is your dog and what did the vet say....

but first how old is your dog because if it is a growing puppy who is a larger breed the rotating lameness could be panosteitis

Yep, it depends on how old and what brred your dog is but if it's a large breed puppy, it sounds like Pano. Pano will eventually go away but it might last pretty long. (like months)

I think you should take him to the vet to get checked out. (i know if it was Pano, then there is nothing much you can do other than wait until it goes away.)

he is a year old, pointer/lab mix. im pretty sure hes done growing, hes pretty slender at 60 lbs. def. not a giant breed.

im pretty close to my vet and he knows my dog. i have talked to him about this, but he hasnt physically seen ace yet. the first week, he said if it goes away in less than a week then he wouldnt worry about it. it did, so i didnt. he started limping on the other leg a day after that. my vet said it could be b/c he was putting more strain on that leg when the other was limping, so to again wait and see. he has wanted to see him since the front leg started limping, which only started yesterday. i am worried, he hasnt been in any pain at all, but he cried thru half the night last night, something he never does unless he is hurting.

so he is going to the vet tmrw or sat. whichever he can get him in. he is pretty much not allowed any excercise, b/c i dont know what it is and dont want to do anything to damage whatever it is further. we take him out frequently though b/c prolonged sitting seems to make it worse. my boss who is a breeder suggested it may be a an insent bite.

prime time for panosteitis is 10-14 mos and it is usually typified by lameness that moves from leg to leg....

I would talk to your vet but considering the age and breed, I would guess you have pano especially considering it is changing legs
