Talk About A Long Week...

Yeesh, now I understand Ella'sMom's post a few weeks ago. His owner's plane has landed and here they come!!! This little guy has really wore me out. It was as if I was starting from scratch on a rescue. Pulling, lunging, yapping, fence fighting, amongst many other things. However, his neurosis showed me which dogs need more work. I had the pack nearly under control and well behaved in most circumstances. Then he broke Tambi, then he broke Coco. The boys managed to not pick up his behavioral quirks at all, good boys. We will see how things go after a couple of days, but I'm pretty sure I need to go back a few steps with the girls. I have t minus 180 minutes until a well deserved nap... Now to go determine how much more I should charge them...

(Don't let his appearance fool you, he didn't help my little dog discrimination at all.)

That's a cute dog, and may I ask, what breed? Our new dog looks like him a bit, though different coloring entirely...

I hope the training progresses quickly.

So it sounds like you should rephrase your stupid sled dog comments from now on. A few of em dont seem so stupid now, do they?

Did I ever tell you you are one of my favorites? I love reading any and everything you post. Does that make me sound like a stalker?

I thought it would be a cake walk. Day one was mostly learning not to hump everything. Day two was all about his safety during sled dog games. Day three... That guy had me going to the politic threads for a little R&R.

They said he was all Jack Russell, I can tell you he was all jack something... Training is going to be interesting, Coco and Tambi now charge and snarl at any fence with a dog behind it. That's annoying, so tomorrow we begin part deux.

They seem to get smarter every time you add one more sled. So, if they get any smarter than stupid I'm screwed and out numbered. No more sleds for now... and since I'm no Cameron Diaz stalkers don't bother me much.

żiżOH, AND GUESS WHAT THE GUY ASKED BEFORE LEAVING?!? Yup, they might want to re home him and were wondering if I knew anyone that was capable of taking him!!! <---- Doesn't even begin to describe my face...
Just wow.

So I take it you're not jumping to be at the top of the list?

HA! żMe? I already get that glassy eyed look from the landlord, one more might break him. I did however, find three people willing to go one step further if they decide to give him up. Now it's up to them...

Re: Talk About A Long Week...

I can empathize with ya. I recently took in 2 fosters. One is a Whippet/JRT mix. How can such a small dog have so much energy and attitude?!
Wanna know what's really bad? I just noticed yesterday that her profile was taken off Petfinder by the agency I'm fostering for!
I think someone 'jacked' me around here.

Anyone interested in adopting a Whippet/JRT mix in the South Texas area?

Jihad
and the pound puppy crew.
