Now come on B-Line thats a bit over the top.
KD is new to the game yes but i dont think she needs a BSL type telling off over her dog not being allowed in daycare.

It is obvious you do not like Pits/bullys and i have no problem with that at all as its all the unresponsible owners that have lead to aprehension against the breeds.

KD was upset and vented but its clear from her posts that she is a caring/responsible owner and hopefully learned alot in this thread.
But quite frankly your posts towards her IMO are too much!

Ouch. Rescuing a dog is a great thing to do, however there is also responsibility that gos with it. Having a sense of entitlement that one should be able to endanger others because of your self-indulgent moral superiority is just rude.

If you truly love the breed, raise it responsibility and respect others as well. Remember a lot of the aggression issues are potentially only going to come out at around 2 years of age so what you see now is not necessary representative of what you may get.

Are you prepared to separate dogs right now? What do you do if your dog mauls or kills another dog or animal? What about a kid? These are things that you need to think about.

Re: I can't help but feel defensive about this...

Pooch,

Lets be clear.

I have NOTHING against Pit Bulls, Bull Terriers, Mastif's, Chow's, or any other "Dangerous Type Breed".

As individuals, I love all dogs.

But that does not change the fact the majority of "Dangerous Breed" owners I have met in New York, Los Angeles and Miami, are not, good, responsible owners. They may love their dogs, but they are not good representatives for the breed. They are careless and shouldn't so much be handling a toy poodle, let alone a strong muscular dog with a bite potential that can kill.

It gets really annoying to hear people like KD complaining about her dog not being allowed in Dog Care. But her dog does not belong in Dog Care. It is a dangerous environment for other breeds. But she doesn't care about that, she only cares that her dog is being, mistreated. It's a selfish and arrogant attitude.

Her dog may be wonderful, but that does not change anything. Every day I see morons walking these dogs into the parks, unleashing them and blabbing on their cell phones, while their dogs roam without so much as constant supervision.

And KD things, it's not fair, that her dog can't go to Dog Care. TOO BAD.

If you get a Grey, expect it to want to run.
If you get a Portuguese Water Dog, expect it to jump in the water.
If you get a Pit, expect it to want to fight.

I have no problems with any dogs. I only have problems with STUPID OWNERS who don't know what is and is not appropriate for their animals.

As I don't blame the bear for eating the documentary filmmaker, I also don't blame the pit for attacking another dog. It's inherent.

I do though blame the, "I don't think it's fair that my dog can't go to Dog Care" owners for not understanding what their dog should and should not be allowed to do.

wow. You must be a very unhappy person. I hope if you ever start a thread that you are shown the same kindness that you have exhibited to me today.

Re: I can't help but feel defensive about this...

Actually,

Quite the opposite. I'm a very happy person. Some would say, a 365 day smile.

Unfortunately, not everything in life can be sugar coated. And when those two, Pit Bulls, in the dog park, almost killed another puppy a few weeks ago, it made me realize how clueless a lot of people/owners, are out there.

The Pit Bull was put down. The puppy lived but is scarred around the neck. And it wasn't the Pit Bull's fault. It was the fault of the owner, who never should have brought his dog into a small, multi dog, environment, especially since this was the second attack.

So if my attack or harshness or displeasing attitude is uncomfortable with you, well, too bad. You're not asking advice on how to better train your dog. Your complaining that YOUR DOG, should be given special consideration by business owners, because you think she is sweet.

Well, if all the other posts I have made in the past haven't helped you to understand, that your dog is not only not entitled to go where she pleases and do what she pleases, then the only way to help you understand the reality, that your dog is a potential danger and does not belong there, is in a harsh way, so be it.

I have a puppy class to attend...yes, that is right, I took the advice of some on this forum about training my puppy so I think I will pass on dealing with you anymore.

Re: I can't help but feel defensive about this...

B-Line, I'm assuming you don't own a pit and have never owned a pit so your position is best directed towards all dog owners in general, not just pit owners. To specifically enter into this diatribe in a pit thread illustrates your insensitivity, not your authority. So please be considerate.
