We were garage-sale-ing today, and we found the most incredible by for Holly. At 7 1/2 months, she was getting a little big for her crate. I had thought a lot about getting a new one, but the price was in the back of my mind.

So, at a garage sale, we came across a like-new crate, exactly like the one she has, but BIGGER. Its about the size for a full-grown Golden. She's a Golden-mix.

Anyway, it was only $40!! I priced them at Petco, and a new one was about $100-$140!

It's so roomy... when she stands up and looks up, and her nose doesn't touch the roof. In her old one, if she sat up straight, her head had to be lowered forward or it hit the top.There's plenty of stretch-out room. I'm so delighted. I feel a lot better about crating her while I'm at work, now. She's potty-trained, so I'm not worried about her using a corner of it to toilet. I'm just so glad she can move about, more.

She's a bit uneasy in at, right now. She looks around and looks kind of like she's lost. I think she's just not used to such a large den. But, she'll get used to it, I'm sure.

The area we are in, as soon as the weather gets nice, my sister and I spend almost every Saturday going to Garage Sales. I have bought most of my dog crates at Sales at really reasonable prices, never pay more than $20.00, usually less. Have also picked up some nice doggy beds, grooming tools, Oster clippers, etc. You can get some really good bargains on the dog crates as most people quit using them or their dogs grow out of them.

I am now the proud owner of about 4 "crates" airline style plastic ones.
People where I live keep throwing them away...I keep picking them up (they leave them next to the dumpster so it's fair game)...I don't get it! They are all large ones (for about a 40-60 lb dog)...
