| Help me out here. I'm curious about Bo's breed. Any thoughts? I don't want to put down my guesses yet to avoid prejudicing any who want to chip in.
I've been taking regular photos over the last 5 weeks. It's 5 weeks today since he found us, and his health has continued to improve, while his growth rate is astounding.
Our vet estimated him at 6 weeks on the day we picked him up off the road. He was actually at the vets within20 minutes of being picked up off the highway. (That's a new speed record even for us)
Sooooo... He he is in all his glory. Anyone want to hazard any guesses?
The day after he came home.
Three days home.
Two weeks.

| Re: Help me out here. I'm curious about Bo's breed. Any thoughts? Still two weeks home. He's standing right in front of Cassie who is a 30 pound dog to give you all a little scale. You can see his leg bones getting heavier and the growth plates starting to enlarge.
All Stretched out at 3 weeks home.
Good head shot at 4 weeks home which makes him 10 weeks old.
Here he is today at 11 weeks. His leg bones are really getting thicker. |

Profile
Face shot
and finally, (I couldn't resist) Waiting for lunch. IDK why, but he always waits for his meals under here peeking out.
He was at the vet last week for his second boosters, and had doubled from 4 lbs on day one at 6 weeks to 8 pounds at 91/2 weeks. Right now, I would estimate him at close to 10 lbs. He's eating 2 cups of food a day @ 2/3 C. 3x daily. There's not a lot coming out the other end so I know he's utilizing a LOT. He's not fat, I can easily feel his ribs, but he has a really SOLID feel. Originally we were thinking maybe 30 lbs, now I'm thinking bigger.
Thanks for looking, and any thoughts on breed feel free to chip in.

| Re: Help me out here. I'm curious about Bo's breed. Any thoughts? You know, Bo looks like the type of dog I would see on my island (just another thing they have in common ). You cant really tell what they are really. But if I had to guess then I would say Rat Terrier mixed with a mutt . |

I also want to say beagle...maybe thats the tanish coloration around the face though...
My guess? Undertermined! |

I'd also hazard some Beagle, especially in this picture: http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/j...e/IMG_0503.jpg |

| Re: Help me out here. I'm curious about Bo's breed. Any thoughts? Basic Central American pariah dog. The muttliest mix of mixes, LOL. He is soooo cute. I can see a certain breed in that profile shot, but I can't place it. Maybe a little greyhound. Foxhound? Springer? JRT? Beagle? What are the most common purebreds in the area? |

| Re: Help me out here. I'm curious about Bo's breed. Any thoughts? Umm most common PB is ... Yoouuuu guessed it! PITBULL. Fighting is big here.
My vet even hazarded a guess that 75% of all mutts have Pittie in them here. The next most common breeds are hunting dogs. I doubt any of them are PB but the hound look is very strong in most of the dogs you see trotting along behind a hunter on his bike. (with his shotgun slung over his shoulder, and a dead animal in the bag) You see a lot of black and tan, a lot of floppy ears, and a lot of blue tick.
Once you leave the cities that is. In the cities it's all pitbulls, rotties, and a very few dobies. Most of them are mixes too.

He is a cutie though |

| Re: Help me out here. I'm curious about Bo's breed. Any thoughts? looks like one of the small working terriers. also looks vaguely basenji-ish. i'm not so sure about pit...if he is it's a very miniscule percentage. and considering how genetically similar all canines are, him having a small percentage of pit bull means absolutely nil. |

Look at those paws too...Lol!! I would gander to say that he will be ATLEAST as big as Cassie...if not larger, when he is done growing. |
