Trevor got neutered early this morning (around 8:30 or so) an everything went fine. He is a little sore and tired as u all can imagine. He hasnt drank anything yet but has eaten a couple of icecubes and is hungry. The vet said he cant do anything and to pretty much leave him alone for the first 5 days. which will be fine. And the vet said stitches come out in 2 weeks. however we are having a family reunion at our little water house on saturday (6 days away) but will he be ok, will he be allowed in the water and running around? or will he have to stay crated?

He needs to stay out of the water for sure, and if you don't think he can be calm, I'd keep him crated someplace away from all the comotion.

He needs to have his activity restriced untill the stiches come out. Than means no running around, climbing up and down stairs, jumping on the furniture, etc.. He should be kept in a crate or small area to confine him, and prevent him from running around. If you want to take him out and not keep him cooped up all day then you can take him out on a leash so you will prevent him from running around. The surgery site also needs to remain clean and dry untill stiches are out, that means he absolutely can not go in the water. I always try to inform clients that thier pet must have it's activity restriced for ~2 wks, that way they are so suprized by it when they pick thier pet up and don't plan on going on any major outings imediately afterwards.

Lots of good advice. I second the suggestion of keeping him in a quiet place away from the party.

If he's still groggy don't feed him, he will only vomit it back up. If he's pretty much awake offer him a little food and water, not much though this will tide him over until morning.
