New doggy mom needs boost of morale

I need some words of encouragement.
I am a completely new doggy mom. I've never had a dog in my life. Three months ago, I adopted a 6 year old male siberian husky from a guy who is too poor to keep him.
It's way more work then I ever thought. I try to give the dog everything he needs. He has a full yard to play in. A doggy igloo, although he spends every night in the house. We go for 2 mile walks everyday. He gets the best food and I've even put a couple pounds on him. I brush him, bath him, give him lots of love.
My problem is, I don't know if I can do it. He whines A LOT! He'll just be laying in the house and whine, whine, whine! He's a very big and strong dog. He's like a bull in a china shop. He doesn't listen, sometimes he seems uncontrollable. Sometimes he'll follow me EVERYWHERE! I'm not used to anything that needs 24/7 attention. I feel like I don't know what to do half the time.
Is it just new mom jitters? Does it get better over time? And how long? Is it worth it?
Thanks for listening!

Hello! You and your dog may benefit from some classes. Training classes aren't just for pups! And you'll learn more than just training plus you'll have fellow dog owners to talk to. You can check with your local shelter for referals. Since you are new to this and choose an adult dog you may find a professional's opinion helpful - especially in a class setting where she/he knows you and your dog personally.

The big thing you have working in your favor is that he loves you and although at times it's hard to believe, he wants to make you happy.

To answer your last string of q's - you probably do have new mom jitters, yes it does get better over time with work, I don't know how long, and imo it is worth it. After a long day of chaos with my babes (2 human, 1 canine) it's all worth it when I see them snuggled up together as if nothing ever happened!

You are doing your best. Hang in there.

I am a new dog mommy too & have never had a dog before but have a little pup & wow the 1st 4 weeks I was nuts!!! It was very frustrating but does get better. He is acclimating to you and his environment. His sole purpose in life is to make you happy so behavior training will give you insight and him purpose which will make everyone happy. I would definitely look into training/behavioral classes.
