Hi all, just brought home a pound dog today. He is between 3 and 5 years old. We noticed before that he had a green pus type substance coming from the tip of his penis. Le Ew. Anyway, the lady at the pound said its no big deal that her dogs have it and its only bad if dogs that have been neutered. Well mine was neutered today, and I was wondering if that could make this infection to away, or stop it from happening eventually? I found a few pieices of information online about it, but it seems theres so many different reasons and causes for it. I want to know if someone out there went through the same thing. Should I take him to the vet or since hes been neutered, wait for it to clear?

If it is an infection, it needs treatment. Please see a vet. If the dog was neutered today, didn't the vet see that?

yeah the vet did =/ we even put a note on his papers. But I don't expect much from the pound we got him from. All I got was "oh its no big deal since hes been neutered". Mainly I was wondering if it was true or not, but I agree I will take him to the vet
