While taking a long walk with my pup, I started thinking about how many things she had taught me just from entering my life. Here are a few:
1) To love another more then myself
2) patience
3) patience
4) patience
5) That love means more then just spoiling her rotten
6) That being with those you love is the most important thing
7) That my dog is a far better judge of character then I am
8) That no one (except those from Holland where the breed is common) has pronounced "keeshond" correctly the first time. (Kayz-hond, if you're curious)
9) That my dog is the only being I've ever met that is equally as stubborn as I am
10) To always keep coming back for more
11) To never give up
12) That it's ok to bark and growl to protect the ones you love the most
13) To smile constantly
14)To always have a sense of humor about things
15) That an hour long walk a day is great for every one involved
16) That line grooming a double coated 10 week old puppy will force you to alter your definition of "patience" (see 2, 3, and 4)
17) That fur absorbs tears of laughter and sadness better then tissues do
18) That the way you treat something utterly dependent on you is a reflection of your inner self
(I'll stop for now. Please feel free to continue the post. I'm always interested to see all of the amusing and always heart felt truths that dogs help us realize).
