She is bored.....toy suggestions please!

My 5 month old Papillon gets so bored so easily. She has a ton of toys and I rotate them weekly so they are new and exciting......but that does not last long. She has a variety of chew treats (like edible nylabones) that I rotate as well otherwise those are boring too. I have purchased a Kong and she figured out in 5 minutes exactly how to hold it and nudge it to get the treats to come out so its not the occupier of time I thought it would be.

I do play with her whenever I am home and we go for walks. She will never tire of torturing the cats but of course it is monitored heavily & only happens when I am home. Its the time when I am at work. She is in her pen from 7-noon (30 minute break) and then 12.30-5. It just breaks my heart to think she is just laying there bored of that weeks toys.

So any toys that you think are just fantastic and a must have that your dog just loves? What about those toys they advertise to "stimulate their mind" like the ones with stuff hidden inside that are expensive. I just did not want to waste my money given what I have spent so far. but she is worth every penny!

Try taking her food and freezing it in the kong. Or frozen peanut butter. I wouldn't worry too much about her being bored during the day. Dogs are meant to sleep during the day anyway. They are diurnal which means they are most active during the morning and evening.

Well, Elsa would play with a Buster Cube for at least 15 minutes if it still produced and given the chance...but someone should have told the manufacturers to make this toy out of rubber, and not plastic. It's very noisy on hardwood floors.

Red face

This isn't a toy, but I buy my dogs cow hooves. I have 3 dogs. I get 20 lbs. at a time. That way it is cheaper. They really like them! Just a thought. Good luck!

My dog is occupied with the cats. Just put a fake mouse down watch the cat go and the dog goes after her. You dont have to have a toy to make a cat unbored. Just play with her. She'll get more fiesty. Dogs love their belly rubbed. I just go get some dog treats and hide them around the house keeps him thinking and healthy
