Re: Pet Boarding

Cost of boarding usually depends on the size/weight of the dog. Dogs over 50 lbs. are more than those under.

Your best bet is to contact all the kennels and petsitting services in your area and get the going rate then compare and make your decision.

Re: Pet Boarding

We use Best Friends Pet Resort...and it's about $40.00 pet day per dog...weight does not matter. The rates have been increasing a lot lately and I think I may look elsewhere the next time I need to board either one of my dogs and/or my cat.

Re: Pet Boarding

Ours stay at doggie daycare while we are gone. They charge $32 per dog per day. Its nice because they run around with a bunch of other dogs and have as many potty breaks as they need and then sleep together in the same "bedroom" (sort of a permanent crate) at night. I know they are well cared for and are fine, as they go there periodically during the week for daycare. We can also check in with the webcams.

Re: Pet Boarding

you pretty much have to call each kennel for pricing.

Re: Pet Boarding

In our area it runs anywhere from 30-40/day per pet, multiples usually get some sort of discount.

Re: Pet Boarding

Wow! I must be getting a great deal! Of course, I adopted my loving Angel from these people who run a boarding kennel and also do rescue and we have become great friends with them. We pay $8/day per dog(55lb Sibe and 75lb Golden) and she and her husband exercise them, daily, play with them, feed them and they share they same kennel. They do not do well when being in separate kennels. She has never had a problem with them and when we had to put our beloved Angel down in August, she cried right along with us. This woman and her husband are saints. They are retired and this is their livelihood(sp?) They are also now working with, oh shoot, can't remember the breed but it is a big white mountain dog. Shoot, it will come to me sooner or later. LOL

Re: Pet Boarding

I spent $120 for 8 days for my 55lb boxer mix. I found the avg around here in my smallish town is $15 to $21 a day. Call and ask around. I ended up driving out of town to board my pup because 3 people at work used this kennel before and loved it.
