| the saddest story ive ever heard i know this guy, he's a late twenty something, more of an acquaintance, but anyways, he’s been homeless for a while now. he's just one of those who’s had a very bad run of luck. it seems like its one thing after another for him. every once in a while i see him around. when i do he usually needs a ride or something and ill usually take him over and buy him and his dog a meal. this is about his dog. his only posetion in the entire world is his dog. it was his mom's and when she died he took it. it is his best friend, companion, everything to him. it is such a good dog to. he takes it to work and you don’t even know its there. i got a day job for him once working for a friend of mine and when i stopped in the office for a minute i didn’t see the dog anywhere. i asked my friend and he said the dog just lay under the desk all day and didn't even come out once.
so about a month ago, this guy, his name is tom, got enough money to stay a night in a motel. they made him make the dog stay outside. he said he laid a towel down by the door for the dog to lie on. he said he woke up about 1:00 in the morning to murder outside. some one (there is no name strong enough to describe this person) was letting their pit bull maul this little dog. i think i forgot to mention that this was a little dog, a Chihuahua. he tried to break it up and ended up getting torn apart himself. and they !@$&#)(*@ guy who owned the pit bull just stood and watched.
i heard this a day of so after it had happened and went out looking for tom. i found him and was able to help him get medical attention for himself and helped him clean and bandage the best we could the poor dog. i tried to find a vet in the area who would stitch up the animal but all wanted some compensation that i just couldn't afford. its been a good month since ive heard form tom, but i saw him yesterday wanting a ride. i picked him up and it look like someone took a bat and razor blade to his face. he had his dog, but it wasn’t the same dog. apparently ever since the incident, his wounds have mostly healed, but he has completely changed. now he flips out over anything. just getting in my car, the dog peed everywhere and then attacked tom, ripping at his face. this was just getting in the car. we tried calming the dog down and i ended up with a nice gash in my arm and a pretty chewed hand. i had a box in the trunk and we ended up having to fight him into that just to be able to drive anywhere.
its clear the dog needs to be put down. what other choice is there. tom mentioned that to me. and i know that there would be a vet out there somewhere who would do it for free, but this is so hard. the dog is the only thing tom has. he has no family, no friends, just this dog. tom is really being good about this, its his idea to have the dog put down and he asked if i could help him, which i will. its just so hard. i don't know what i could do for tom to help him through this, emotionally that is. |
