Question Constant licking!!

Hello, I am new here. I just got a dog-- she is about a year and a half. She is a dobermin/rotweiller mix. We know her pretty well, we had dog sat her before earlier this year (she belonged to our friends) but they ended up having to get rid of her. She CONSTANTLY is licking my husband. His hands, mouth, shoulder, anything she can get her tounge. Some people say its lotion but its even when he doesn't have lotion or anyhting on and I use the same body products as him and she doesn't do it to me. Has anyone experienced this and know what may cause it?? Thanks so much!

This is a sign of submission. Have your husband feed the dog, and do some training with her everyday.

Also, discourage her licking, when she does, ignore her, get up and leave if needed. Anytime she isnt licking, give her attention. No Lick = Lovins.

You can also try bittle apple spray. Have your husband spray it on his hand, when she licks, she will get a nasty taste

Does your husband have a sweaty job? It is possible she licks the salt off his skin, if he is sweaty (and therefore salty) often.

Thanks for the responses! I had no idea licking was a sign of submission!

Zoomkitten, I often joke with him saying he is salty, but really he works at a cell phone store so he doesn't really sweat too much doing that

Submission or salt , and both of those were covered by previous posters. Definatly ignore her and I agree with the bitter apple spray.
