I think dogstar was just saying you expected to much and didnt give any real guidance tot his dog. you just assumed he would be well behaved like your lab. With proper training and rules I'm sure the pom would have turned out fine, expeacially just after one night with him. How will a puppy fair then? puppies bite and play with other dos, they chew ect. If the puppy doesnt get it in one night are you just goin to give up? I would hope not. a 8 week old puppy or a 5 year old dog in a new home all need proper rules and boundaries taught to them
