Jake came to the pound several months ago a an owner turn in. His owner said he was a Lhasa Apso/Poodle mix, though by the looks of him its hard to believe.
He was not an easy dog to place, since he didnt show well in his pen. He would bark and posture a lot, but he managed to win the heart of a lady who took him in to "foster" and rehome.
I just received this email today about Jake, from Lisa, the ACO:
Jessica,
I was wondering if you could do me a favor. Jake came back and its really a sad story. He had been placed in 4 or 5 different homes and somehow made it back to St Clair. The last home he ended up in he saved the lady's life. She had overdosed on her insulin and blacked out on the kitchen floor. Her husband said Jake came into the living room and was throughing a fit. He was barking and running a round. He said he ran into the kitchen so he followed him and found his wife laying on the kitchen floor.
He said he hated to get rid of him after all that but Jake was just to much for him to handle.
Anyway, I have an appointment for Jake to get neutered on Friday and I was wondering if there was any way that you could pick him up and take him there. I can pick him up from there but I can not take him. It is a free neuter so I would like to take advantage of it. It is at Dr. Smith's office. Please let me know if you can. I need to know as soon as possible so I can make arrangements if you can't.
