New Here with Question

Hi, I just adopted a 3 year old pekepoo, and I'm just wondering, is it normal for a dog to sleep a lot?

She does sleep a lot, but she acts fine.
I'm new to all this, so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Depends on what her routine was before you got her. Maybe someone worked a lot and she was left alone. Or maybe she's just the type that doesn't need a lot of excitement in her life!
Also, depending on how long you've had the dog, some take time to adjust to new surroundings. Sometimes they will withdraw until they get comfortable.

RonE will become famous soon enough
Most dogs are opportunists. If there's nothing else going on (they don't care about watching Oprah on TV) many will cheerfully sleep 18 hours a day or more.

Given the opportunity to party, they will manage on a lot less sleep. I think Esther sleeps a lot less since she has a little friend to roughhouse with all day and, if we didn't separate them at night, they probably wouldn't sleep at all.

Sounds like a fine dog to me...reminds me of me except I don't get no belly rubs.

I think it would depend on which side of his mix he takes after. Pekes are a lot more docile than poodles. Dogs are mostly active morning/nite & sleep all day.
