| I live in the states, but b/c I have a Papillon that was not quite 2 lbs when I brought her home I needed to come up with a bathroom solution as I could not take her out every 30-60 minutes....I do work full time, but I do have a mid-day pet sitter for her. Anyway, we purchased a large crate that had a divider & my husband cut a doorway in the metal that we made safe for her to walk thru. She was only in her "2-room condo" when we were at work, with a mid-day pet sitter break, & then to sleep at night.....otherwise she was out with us at all times. In essence she had what you have...potty pad on one side and bedroom with a couple toys and chew things on the other with a mounted water bowl. She did very well with it & I would certainly do it again. We were actively training her to go to the bathroom outside & b/c of our training methods she did eventually stop using the "2-room condo" & then transitioned to a regular crate. She now no longer uses a crate & is 100% outdoor potty trained. If you are intending on training her to go to the bathroom outdoors you will get alot of feedback saying what you are doing will confuse her. It did not confuse my dog but I think that was b/c of the way we went about it. |
