Question sorry if this may turn out to be a stupid question
Ok i dont know if this would be a stupid question but i need to ask it cuz i feel guilty. Is it bad to disturb your puppy or wake him up when he is sleeping ? Its just that sometimes i like to cuddle him and just caress him but i would feel bad wakin him up. dya think its ok to disturb his sleep or its not good ???

I prefer to leave sleeping dogs lie. Disturbing a dog in his sleep often surprises him to and he may be more inclined to bite before he realizes who you even are. How much do you like to get woken up from sleep?

I think you should train him to be alright when you wake him up. It's not good for a dog to bite if someone wakes him up. Because what if a situation came up, when you HAD to wake him up? You would not want to get bit.

not exactly something you can train...I mean they bite because they''re shocked/surprised. You''re right though in that if they are doing it regularily then something is wrong. Im talking about the off-chance that you catch them in a deep sleep in the middle of a bad dream. I''ve smacked a couple people when they''ve woken me up at the wrong time and Im not normally a violent person If my dogs are sleeping, I dont let anyone but me wake them up, just in case

I wake my puppy up every evening. She usually goes to sleep before me so i will wake her up to potty one last time before bed.

There is nothing wrong with waking the pup/dog up sometimes, but most times you should let him sleep. When you do wake him up, call him first and don't just grab him and startle him.

You shouldn't wake your pup up. I try my best to avoid waking my pup up HE is so over active if he could he would never sleep and make sure I never either!

I recently learned not to wake up a deep sleeping kitten! Apparently when they are sleeping soundly its a growth time for their bodies. Not sure if its true with pups, but I would guess it might be.

Pups don't sleep that long; IMO I'd wait till pup wakes up by himself to cuddle and pet.
