My point was to make sure you realized that this isn't a BREED, it is a MIXED BREED. Mixed breeds can be found in shelters all over this country, usually for under $100. Irresponsible breeders who are breeding mixed breeds and selling them for five to ten times that much are cheating the public. I think it's especially concerning when they mix breeds that are so different in breed type. There are people that are breeding Bichons and Poodles, which are both very similar, but shih tzu's and bichons are not similar at all. The legs are drastically different, the faces (nose, eyes, mouth) are totally different, and when dealing with a brachycephalic breed, there are dangers of cleft palate and breathing problems. I'm not up on the shih-tzu medical problems, but did your breeder make sure that there was no inheriting of luxated lens (blindness) and bladder stones from the Bichon side of the family? Mixed breed breeders usually don't care, but you and your dog could suffer from it later.
If there was a tone to my message, it was simply BUYER BEWARE.
