Smile male or female?

Does it make a difference if your dog is a boy or a girl when it comes to training or personality?

I use to always have males but now I am getting to the point where I will only take femals for many reason but one big one is I really hate the males marking their traritory and I am thinking the horses really hate it too when the dogs come into the barn and mark their dinner. My males now are old and do not do it like they use too as they have been repromaned enough for it but I just do not want to have to go through that again.

As fare as training go. There is no differnce in male vs females in any type of animal. I hear the same thing when I take one of my stallions to local shows. "Oh I can not believe you are showing a stallion." "Why you did not even know he was a stud until you heard someone talking about breeding a mare too him."

So no there is no differnce in training b/c of sex. Now there is b/c of personality but that has nothing to do with gender.

If the dog is going to be a pet and will be spayed/neutered it really makes no difference other than personal preference. Some people prefer males because females tend to burn their lawns more. Others prefer females because they don't like the way males lift their leg on things. I'm not sure what those folks do if they get a male that squats or a female that lifts her leg (rofl).

Now if you plan to show in confirmation, it's a different ball of wax because the dog cannot be spayed/neutered to show. In that case, a female will go into heat and blow coat every 6 months (approx.)
