I am about to adopt a puppy. The breeder has 2 liters which were born about the same time. One mom has been very protective of her puppies, so they have not gotten much handling. The other mom got mastitis when the puppies were 4 weeks old, so they have been handled a lot since the breeder fed them. We are leaning towards a puppy from the mastitis mom, but is there anything we should be on the lookout for with a puppy from either liter? We will be checking out the puppies this weekend.
I think the breeder could help you out the most, as she knows the temperments of the puppies and the bitches. However, if the puppies from litter A haven't had much handling because the breeders own bitch wouldn't let her near them. Run. Run fast and find another breeder.

First buy you a good pair of Nikes, you want as much speed as you can get. Oh! and don't look back.
I would NOT get a puppy from this breeder. It doesn't sound like she takes very good care of her dogs at all, and it doesn't seem like she was prepared for a lot of the common problems that come with breeding.
