Behaving oddly after walks

My dog sugar a golden labrador behaves very strangley after I take her for a walk. Right after I take her for some reason she feels the need to go somewhere to be alone, almost as if she's hiding from something. A couple of days ago I found her under our deck burying herself a little hole. This Behavior did not start until recently. Here's a little background info about here that might help with this problem. We have had the dog for 4 years now she's in great shape. We picked her out from a shelter were they took her from a abandoned animal hospital, she was basically left to die. Around her family she is incredibly affectionate and a lovable animal she's cuddling up by my feet as I write this . Around other people she doesnt know she completly avoids, them she can now be within a foots proximity of a stranger. But should they try to pet her, she runs to the other room.

Re: Behaving oddly after walks

It sounds like she is overwhelmed on the walks. She's taken out of her comfort zone of hearth and home. You might try walking closer to home...for example walking around the block 6 times instead of a mile from home or doing shorter, more frequent walks.
