Re: help w/female or male???

if your talking about mounting, then no.

You can train your dog not to do that.

No the dog cannot mate, but he might still mount other dogs. All dogs have that instinct, even females

Yes, but you can train him not to mount. It's important to train him not to mount humans, especially---it's very rude and he should have better manners than that. But you can also train him not to mount other dogs.

Re: help w/female or male???

My male has been neutered and I haven't had a problem with him marking territory or humping other dogs. I call him my frat boy cause all he wants to do is play, he has no interest in humping another dog unless he's playing with my other two.

Re: help w/female or male???

My old dog Friendly was neutered and he constantly mounted people.

Female dogs are better!

Re: help w/female or male???

My male didn't mark in the house or mount other dogs OR people when unaltered, nor does he now that he's neutered. Mounting isn't all about sex, nor is it strictly male behavior, females will do it, too. This is where training comes in.
