She is home

Ok picked her up today and got home about 2pm..She has that stupid cones on her so she is a little agitated from that..All in all very good so far except she has pee'd twice on the carpet...Once at 4PM which I think is about the time they walk her and then about 10 minutes ago...

I didn't catch her fast enough the first time but I still took her out for half an hour..She didn't go outside...I fed her when I brought her in..Don't know if that was smart idea...Maybe I should have walked her 15-20 min after she ate and drank..

The second time I caught her and with a firm NO NO and put her nose at the spot..I have my kids walking her now...The Vet also said she has not had a Bowel Movement so they could not check for worms...

She has been walking in and out of the crate playing wait a couple of toys..Has walked through the top floor and did not try to eat or chew anything...She has been playing with the kids wagging her tail and it's like she lives here from before
Am I doing the right thing with the bathroom problem...

Catching her in the act and saying "No" is fine. Rubbing her nose in it is counterproductive...don't do this. You want to build her confidence, not destroy it. If she's had an accident in the house, rub your nose in it, it's your fault for not watching her closely enough. Keep her crated when you can't keep an eye on her, and give her tons of praise for going outside. It's really no different than if she were a pup.

And thanks for considering rescue! I hope all of you enjoy each other tremendously.

Well congradulations on your new pup. As for the bathroom thing , I am not big on the whole put there face in the pee, I find that kind of wrong, i wouldnt want to shove anythings face in pee... But a firm no is good.

Thanks I will not do that any more...

My Daughter said she pee'd outside but I forgot to tell her to bring a treat and praise her of she went outside...

Should I walk her like every hour or so I know at 5 months she should be able to hold it for at least 3-4 hrs
