When to start training

Well I finally go and pick her up tomorrow from the vet..She is being Spayed today and given the once over shots and bath..Now I am sure for the first couple of days she will be out of it...I am sure being spayed is not a pleasant ordeal...My question is do I wait a week and see how she handles things or do I start obedience training this weekend with a professional...

I see she is very playful and I think I might have trouble in a crowd setting with other dogs to train, but I am going to try that first along with private lessons if I need to have someone over the house to help...I just do not want to overload her with a new home and training after all these traumatic experiences..

All I know tomorrow can not come fast enough I think for me more then my kids...

I'd say it's probably too soon, and your vet would probably recommend waiting until she has her stitches removed in 10-14 days.

Thanks I figured it would be to soon..They said the stitches dissolve I asked about having to bring her back for that...All I need to do is watch for infection or bleeding I was told...

Yes, it's definitely too soon to do any real training. But, while she's recovering if you see her going into a sit or down or coming towards you, use it as an opportunity to associate the command with the action.

For example, just as she goes into a down position give the down command and quietly praise her, "good down."

Vet said not to let her jump or run for 14days, but I must say she is moving pretty good...With that Cone on her neck she is having trouble in the crate and she actually fell asleep next to me at 8Pm while I was petting her...I woke her and went to put her in the crate and all of a sudden she started to pee. I took her out for a walk and just got back about half hour ago.
She did not do anything and this is the 3rd time wetting in the house..I am sure it is nerves....She was only asllep for about 10min before I tried to move her so I don't think it was a needing to go to the bathroom problem

Don't worry about that, the anesthetic and ordeal of surgery can cause some dogs to become incontinent for a day or so. Then it will all leave her system and she should be fine. If not take her back to the vet, she might have a UTI or some other intestinal or bladder infection. Congrats on the new addition.
