Exclamation Clostrophobic puppy or whiner?

Hi, I bought a 6 week old Maltese puppy 2 weeks ago and still have problems leaving it alone at night when I sleep or when I have things to do during the day. Despite having toys, food, and a bed to sleep in the puppy whines and sounds insane. Upon letting it out the puppy's face and paws are soaked with its on saliva. Is this puppy going crazy or what? I never let it out because it is whining, and figured this problem would be over by now. Can anyone tell me this is normal or provide any advice whatsoever?

your dog is very young still, you will have to be patient. Your dog should probably still be with its mom and littermates at its age.

Do you have a crate for the dog? Or is she locked in a room?

In a room, but has a nice bed along with food and water.

an entire room can be a scary place for a young puppy. Something smaller like a crate would make her feel more secure. Dogs like small den-like spaces.

Shes crying because she can't understand why her pack mates are leaving.
