Give puppy a job

My husband and I are first time dog owners. We have a 7 month old Mini Australian Shepherd named Abbie. I know that dogs of this breed need a job to do, but I'm wondering what we can do with her right now. Once she's old enough, we plan to get her into agility, but I know she's too young right now and will be too young for quite some time. She has a Buster Cube, and we play fetch with her and take her for walks. She has completed Puppy School and the first level of obedience training, but the next class doesn't start for a couple of months. I'm just wondering if you guys can give me some ideas on other things we can do with her now to keep her mind stimulated.

Here are a few books you can get to teach some tricks while you're 'on break'

POPULAR DOGS: TRICKS & GAMES
by Dog Fancy Magazine, Editors

BEYOND FETCH - FUN, INTERACTIVE ACTIVITIES FOR YOU AND YOUR DOG
by D. Caroline Coile

THE ONLY DOG TRICKS BOOK YOU'LL EVER NEED
by Gerilyn Bielakiewicz

Any of these will help to strenthen the bond between you and teach him some tricks to keep away boredom.
