| Re: hi urgent help First, relax a little. Many dogs are skittish and fearfull when they are introduced to a new home. Add the surgry she has just undergone and she won't be feeling up to much activity.
Make sure she has a quite place of her own to relax in to get used to the sights and sounds of her new surondings, spend quite time with her so so she gets used to you.
You could try feeding her from your hand, some dogs respond well to this as it allows them to associate you as the provider and start to develop some trust.
Paitients is the key right now. |

She'll get hungry, thirsty, tired; give her food, water, a place to lay down. Be calm, take things in stride, be positive and the trust will follow. |

My pup was spayed in June. It was very difficult for her to walk right after. We were told only to give her little drinks of water, and little amounts of food the next day. I also had to check her temp. the next morning - first time I ever did that!
And i understand why your's wouldn't want to eat a treat. I bet she'll be up and around in no time. Just try to keep her from licking the stitches. That can be a problem for some dogs. |

she doesn't know the routine yet so its not odd that she doesn't want to go outside. She doesn't understand whats going on yet. If it were my dog, i'd let her sleep. |

Ever see the emaciated dogs on animal cop shows? They just go to show how long a dog can go without food.
They wouldn't have fed her before surgery. The drugs they use would make her puke.
If the dog is drinking water, your probably ok.
Btw congrats on adopting. When the dog feels better you have to post pictures. |

Though, when others thank me for taking a shelter pup, I always feel that I'm lucky to have her. |
