Getting puppies adjusted to car

Hey, new to the boards.

Have a couple of questions. Have two puppies (golden retriever mixes) one of them is having a hard time in the car. Car sickness and pooping in the car. I've had other dogs in the pass who would get car sick, and would usually just have not let the dog eat right before going in the car.

But I've never had a puppy or dog acutally poop in the car and I'm not entirely sure how to fix the problem. I've tried letting the dog sit in the car, we've tried short rides around the block and it still seems to be a problem.

Both dogs do not seem to fear the car and pretty much associate it with going to the park.

The space reserved for the car is the cargo area behind the third row seat so its fairly small and allows the dogs to sit and turn around.

Any tips or suggestions?

Thanks.

Ginger is great for carsickness in pups.

Also, there are these special leash/harness type things that will secure your dogs in the seat with out a crate.

On a similar note. I am getting a puppy this week. And she has been kinda of trained to ride in a car. But, my question is this. I work 5-10 minutes away. And for a while will be taking the puppy to work with me. I will be bringing her crate. I assume she could lay on the passenger floor and not in the crate while driving?

The dg should be in a crate or have a seatbelt harness on for safety. Would you put your baby in the back floorboard or a car seat?
