today i have to put my little girl to sleep

today will be the hardest day of my life this afternoon i have to take muffyn to put her to sleep these last few days we have been doing things that she enjoyed and everyone has been coming over to say there goodbyes to her and give me support for that i am so grateul . muffyn was so loved by me as well as everyone that has known her she will truly be missed by all she had her last ice cream cone from the local ice cream shop, had a frozen slurpee ,pizza we went to the park and watched home movies of her
i am sitting here thinking ans watching her i am going to miss her i had her for 17 years and still can't believe this is happening her health has been good for alll these years it is just old age please pray for us and thank you all for your support .

Oh goodness, I am SO sorry... is she suffering? I don't know if I'd be able to make that decision based on old age alone... but you know your girl better than any of us do... what a horrible, hard decision to have to make!

yes it is a hard decision she is suffering she doesn't eat much has lost weight and has trouble standing up and laying down. this is the first time i had to made this decsion but i know it is for the best i have alot of support from family and friends that has done this before and they all said i am mnaking the right choice i still don't want to do this but i can't have her living like this i want to remember her for all the energy she always had she has been active til a bout a week ago. I know it is the right choice i will miss her so much she was my first dog and she knows that i love her very much and always will. i have a couple of friends coming with me this afternoon for support which i know i will need. everyone tells me it will get better int time just keep her pictures and things around and remember all the happy 17 years we have been together. i truly have been blessed .

You have my sympathies. When a beloved pet's quality of life goes down drastically it is a blessing to be able to send them to the bridge in your arms..peacefully and with love.
Seventeen years is a long life and I know it will be hard to deal with the loss. I recently lost my almost 17 year old cat and it was very painful..but I do not regret the decision.

My thoughts and prayers are with you today. I went through a similar situtation a few months ago. Although it is a difficult thing for you to do, you will know what is best for your friend.

yesterday my little girl was laid to rest she was happy all the way to the end it was so hard i went into the room with her and held her ,sang her our song
which is have i told you lately that i love you by rod stewart ,and told her that i love her and everything is going to be okay because mommy is here that always comforted her ,i am glad that i made the decision to go into the room i needed to be with her and she needed me there too. we took alot of pictures .The people and our animal control officer were great they helped me through this all the way to the end.and told me when i am ready that i can help out at the shelter with feeding and taking the dogs for a walk and also if i just want to talk to please come in I am so grateful that i live in a small town where everyone knows everyone. My support from my friends and all of you have helped me alot and for that i say THANK YOU if you ever need me i am here for you also. It is hard and i miss her so much already last night i said mommy will be rihgt back then i realized she is not here i guess it was habits that we do all the time. I hope she watched the detroit tigers beat the white sox in a double header she loved baseball one time they had bark in the park were you could take your dog to comerica park but you needed tickets that they were giving away we were lucky we got them she had a great time and had her pictures taken with the some of the detroit tigers

I'm so sorry for your loss. It sounds like she was such a great dog. I'm glad you have a strong support network in this tough time. Hang in there... it will hurt less with time.

Sorry for your loss. Every time I come into this section I break down in tears because I too have had to witnessed the passing (put to sleep due to lymphoma) of my childhood pet. I had her from age 15-28 and I am now 30. Yet everytime I hear about someone having to do this it just breaks me down. May she forever be in you and your family and friends hearts.

I'm sorry for your loss. I lost my beloved puppy this morning. It really crushed my heart. I don't know what to do to take away this pain. Hopefully, all of us who has lost a good friend, a buddy, and a pet will soon find relief.
