| Re: Lizzy Thank you digitmama, kotone, bluedawg, and chrissy. You don't know how much it means to me that she was special not only to us but to you all as well.
I still can't believe that she is gone. Just a few minutes ago I actually called out her name forgeting that she can't come to me anymore. Payton is so sad. His tail won't wag and he keeps whinning. She was the spark in all of our eyes. Her favorite activity was sleeping on somebody's lap. The picture above is just one of a hundred times Jeff came home to find us asleep on the couch together. She loved the water and I had planned on getting her a doggy life vest so she could go swimming this summer. Her favorite toy was a waterbottle with stones in it, although she loved her stuffed "fish" too. She loved to go with me in the car and if I asked her if she wanted to go "bye bye" with me she would run around in circles in excitement. I don't think she was ever happier than the few short days she got to spend out here at the ranch. And even though my heart breaks because maybe she would of lived if we hadn't of moved out here, at least I know that her last days were the happiest of her life. She would run and play with Payton all over. She loved to explore and was so thrilled she could be off leash. Lizzy my love, your life was so tragically cut short. Thank you for all you gave Jeff and I. I love you and miss you more than I can express.
Thank you in advance to everyone who grieves with us and thank you for your support and prayers. It does mean a great deal to me that she was so deeply loved. |

| Re: Lizzy I have been where you are. It's hard, and I grieve with you. Even though I never met her I fell a little in love through the computer screen. She had a bright spark in her eyes, that you could see, even through the screen.
The time will come, down the road, when the pain will ease, and the good memories will be brightest.
I will be thinking of you in the days to come. |

| Re: Lizzy Thank you Borzoimom and Jackieszoo for your thoughts and prayers. They do help ease the pain.
Borzoimom...Lizzy was killed by a car. I was out grocery shopping and buying her and Payton new beds and collars. My SO let her out to go to the bathroom. We just moved out to a large ranch and our house is set way back from the road. She normally is never out without supervision and she and Payton always stay very close to the house. However, this time she was not supervised and she must have seen something, I'm guessing a rabbit, and followed it down to the road. She was struck on the far side of the road and from what I can tell died instantly. The driver did not stop. It must have happened just shortly before I made it home. I saw her laying in the road, but as soon as I got to her I could tell she was gone. It is bad enough knowing that I will never see her again, and that I can't hold her anymore. But the hardest part is knowing that she is gone because we weren't there to be with her. I don't blame my SO at all. I had let her out alone previously to go potty. We just never thought this could happen when she was only out for a moment. My SO is destroyed by guilt and grief. We got Lizzy just after his father died last year. This is a lesson we learned the hardest way of all and at the expense of someone we loved very deeply. |

| Re: Lizzy I know how you feel. My mother had a freak accident ironically after moving out to the country- tons of fencing, dirt road no traffic. Some how sailor got out of the fence- when running down the driveway as my dad had just left and the one and only truck that would be on that road was there.. Even after days of walking the fence they were not able to determin how on earth he got out.. Never did make any sense. But just as tragic..
In my prayers.. |

I'll be thinking about you and your SO. Thankfully you at least have each other and Payton to help each other through this. |

| Re: Lizzy Please try to think about the good times you and Lizzy gave each other. All those lovely little faces she made. All the belly rubs and happy days. I am at fault for being neglectful and losing my baby. My heart will always be heavy from it..But the memories bloom new ones everyday. Years from now...she will still be in your heart..waiting until the day you meet again. |

Your advice is very good and I will try my best to follow it. It just hurts so deeply knowing that she's gone and I can never hold her again. However, she gave us so much in her short life. She helped us heal after losing Jeff's dad. She gave us laughter and love and wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. |

| Re: Lizzy volley- give it time. It took me at least a month to look at hotties photos or videos without tears or a huge lump in my throat. Its hard to explain this- but then the grief breaks and instead of tears, you have fond memories ... (if that makes any sense). |
