After 13 wonderful years growing up with my husband and his family, Spike had to be put down. He was a beautiful siberian husky with grey eyes and was such a gentle soul. He had cancer on his left hip but not once did he complained or whined about his condition. Today my mother-in-law told me that he was not able to get up, he didn't eat or drink water all day and she decided it was time. She didn't call me because she knew it would really upset me just as much as it upset her but I still wished I was there to say my farewells. The doctor said that he barely had any muscles left on his hip and its amazing that he lasted that long.
My husband is a bit sad that he is not in town to say good bye to his beloved dog but we all can tell that Spike was in so much pain. (If only he could've hold on for one more week until my husband gets back...) Sigh...
I really don't know what I would do if I lose both of my dogs...but I sure do hope and pray that I would be able to spend at least 13 years (or more) with them just like Spike had with my husband and his family
