Daisy Girl

I only had Daisy for 7 1/2 years. She is the first dog I ever really had and though her puppy years were very distructive I could not ask for a better dog. It happened so quickly, she was fine one day and the next I noticed that she was having trouble with her back legs. By the time I got her to the vet (within hours) her back legs were paralized. Xrays showed that she had Thoracolumbar Disc Disease and she was put on muscle relaxers, pain medication, anti-inflamatory injections and tranquilizers hoping to see an improvement the next day. She stayed that night at the vet in a cage. The following morning the vet called and said there was no improvement and that I needed to take her in for surgery. But I could not afford the surgery. I did not know what to do. I had her put to sleep. I wanted to be with her, but I could not handle lossing her. The guilt from that is tearing me up. I feel the unbearable loss. My heart is truly broken. I heard that animals go straight to heaven because their souls are so pure. I hope my Daisy Girl forgives me for the decision I had to make and knows how much I love and miss her.
