Hi, I know I have not been on in awhile, but I need to write this. Stu my mini weiner was hit by my godfather friday night as he was pulling into the drive way. He was driving to fast and did not see him in the driveway, and he didn't have enough time to get out of the way.
I just remember screaming for him to get out of the way, and then hearing him cry. My boyfriend ran over and found him and he was breathing, then he stopped and Steve gave him mouth to nose and started breathing agian, then he passed. I held him and cried as the warmth left his body so Steve and my dad could go dig him a grave. I have never lost a dog like that, and I just feel so empty. Zoe keeps looking for him, then she cries, she actully has tear marks under her eyes.
It is really hard going to bed and waking up and him not being curled up between my legs, or coming home and him not being there and Zoe looking at me like did you find him. I think she knows because she goes and lays on his grave. My dad built him a cross and my mom bought pansies to plant on his grave today because they were his favorite to get out of her garden.
I know it has been less them 2 days, but it feels like a lifetime already.
I know you guys will understand, thank you for taking the time to read this.
My friend sent me this poem, and I know it is so true and I thought I would share it with you guys
THE RAINBOW BRIDGE
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
