Good Bye My Inga

It is with overwhelming grief that I am telling all of you that My beautiful Inga was put to rest on November 5th 2007. Just 2 months short of her 13th birthday. I have owned, trained and worked with so many dogs. Inga was a star among them. She had so much love, humor, gentle reassurance, Grace to share with everyone she came across. I first met Inga when she was tied to a tractor. Her owner had shot her saying she wouldn't come when she was called. She was emaciated but healthy otherwise. The day I took her home rehab began. I took her for a walk it was cold and snowy outside. I took my mitten off to adjust the leash. (something she never had walked on) and my 48 pound 1 year old Rottie fell to the ground quivering in fear that I was going to hit her. She was afraid of sticks and loud noises. I looked this wonderful dog in the eye and told her I loved her and was going to take care of her and that part of her life was over. I believe she knew exactly what I was talking about. As she came out of her shell and grew into the most outgoing friendly Rottweiler I have ever met. She was destined to become a Therapy dog and I had her Certified with Therapy dogs international. She did training demos with me, worked in hospitals, nursing homes, children's centers, schools and rescue operations. This dog was so amazing, she loved People, dogs, cats, horses, goats, rabbits. You name it this dog loved it. Why I don't know after the start to life she had. She helped so many people to get over their fears of Rottweilers and dogs in general. She trained with Service dogs and helped the Physically challenged people in the program to gain confidence and courage in their lives. She was on Television many times in her life bringing some positive press to this misunderstood breed. She was there for me through first dates, last dates, good times and bad. She helped me through 3 surgeries, Chemo and radiation. This dog is my heart and soul and will never be forgotten. She is my girl.
Rest in Peace My Most Beautiful Inga Jan 1995- Nov 2007 I will always love you.

Re: Good Bye My Inga

Thank you everyone. Inga truly was a special girl. I will never forget her. I thank God for letting her go peacefully. I cannot stand the thought of her being in any pain. As always she did as I asked and hobbled out to the car on 2 legs. She seemed excited to be able to go for a ride in the car. Something she always loved. On the way into the vet I was holding her up with a blanket sling and she insisted on stopping to sniff the bushes. I pray she is in Heaven right now playing with all of my dogs that have gone on before her. No doubt, she has already assumed the position of Pack Leader. I hope God gets as many laughs from that beautiful dog as I did. I Thank him for all the years he allowed me to have with her. Eternity would not be too much. I really hoped she would hang on until the puppy came as she was the most amazing teacher but I think she knew it was her time to step down. True to form with Grace and Dignity. My heart is so broken. I miss you Inga.

Good girl, Inga. You will be missed.

What a blessing that the universe is providing you with a new furry family member to keep Inga's spirit alive. I hope the new puppy turns into a Rottie that would make Inga proud.

I don't even know Inga and I started to cry. Those stories always get me.

She sounds like she had above a wonderful life living with you and everything she needed. You gave her the life she deserved.

I'm sorry for your loss I'm sure she's piggy outup at the rainbow bridge. Take care, Merrit
