It's so hard to lose them. Just take solace in the wonderful life you gave her.

RIP sweet Inga!!!
Indian Prayer
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you wake in morning hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there. I did not die | Thank you LeRoy, that is truly a beautiful poem.
Thank you everyone for your support at this very sad time in my life. Your kind words are much appreciated. It is so sad how as dog lovers we must mourn alone the loss of our special friends. Others (non dog lovers) just don't understand and think it will somehow comfort you to know you can just get another dog. There will never be another Inga. I know I will be able to love other dogs, but they won't be her. I miss her so much. |

| Re: Good Bye My Inga I am so sorry for your loss. Although, I am still pretty new to this forum and don't know many people or their dogs, Inga really stood out to me. She was absolutely gorgeous and your signature photo of her really shows how much compassion she had - just look at those eyes!
RIP Inga (watch over my little Sasha for me) |

| Re: Good Bye My Inga I just saw this post, and I am so sorry I didn't post earlier...I am extremely sad to hear of Inga's passing...I know it can be a very hard time to see a pet you loved so dearly gone and that the wound won't heal quickly. My prayers to you in this time of great sadness and know that she is in heaven and happy. |

| Re: Good Bye My Inga Thank You ACampbell, It is 2 and 1/2 weeks and I still look for her. She was always in the same few spots. I even called her a few times in the first few days then I would break down and cry. I still cry a lot. There just is no peace for something like your baby of 12 years leaving you. I still have a huge pillow on my bed to make me feel like she is there. I guess this puppy came at a good time as he keeps me very busy but I cannot help but look at him and think, she was supposed to help me train him. She did a fabulous job with the other 50 or so dogs that came in and out of our lives. He could use a little teaching about appropriate use of teeth. LOL That was her specialty. I trusted her completely. My 2 year old is trying to step up, but I honestly think he is missing Inga and is not feeling the best yet himself. He is doing some avoidance of this puppy. (not true to his character) I miss her so much and wish I could give her one more hug and kiss. |

| Re: Good Bye My Inga I just read this thread, and you made me cry. Rotties will always hold a special place in my heart. My first dog as an adult was a Rottweiler and she was the sweetest dog ever. I still miss Tessa and she's been gone for 4 years. Their bodies may go but the love and memories will last for ever. |

When you welcomed me to these forums just a couple days ago, I had no idea you had lost Inga. She was a beautiful girl, and it sounds like she won the doggie lottery when you found each other.
Do you have others?
I know how much it hurts, and I hope you can remember all the good times and after a good cry--laugh at all the antics and good times you two must have had. |

| Re: Good Bye My Inga What a wonderful story. Inga was a beautiful spirit and ambassador to the breed. When there is so much bad press out there, isn't it wonderful to know that Inga showed everyone her passion for giving and loving. I can only imagine how you have been hurting and missing her. Take care ok. |

| Re: Good Bye My Inga Oh yes, I do still cry over my Angel dog. She was a one and only girl. Yes I do still have others and they also are great dogs. Oliver my 2 year old has a wonderful outgoing friendly disposition. He is truly sweet. He is not nearly as good looking as Inga was and not even close to as obedient as she was (even during her stinker moments) He has his CGC and if I ever get a chance I will certify him as a Therapy dog as well. He has also gone to several places and poured love on people in the name of his breed. I also have Carsten my now 14 week old. He is a Gorgeous dog but so far, a little brat. He has that twinkle in his eye like Inga had. That one that says, "Yeah, I could do that for you but you might have to talk me into it." I lost 3 of my dogs in a year. It was unbearable. One of them I only had for 2 months and knew she was sick shortly after I accepted her. One had a stroke after I had her for 2 3/4 years. Vet said she had blown a clot. She was an amazing individual and very pretty. She had been used as bait for dog fighters in our area. She was hung and cut down and lived. She had extreme fear based aggression and got over it. She was a huge loss as well. I am down to 2 dogs right at the moment but if I can get caught up on bills... Who knows. |

What a sad, sad world it would be without our pups. http://iluvcanines.tripod.com/ |
