My Two Shelties

August 2005 and January 2006 I lost two of my best friends, Brandy and Dakota, both at the age of 15 . My heart still aches so much over the loss of my two wonderful companions. I never thought I could love a dog as much as I loved them and I miss them terribly. Sometimes I don't think I'll ever get over losing them.

I am a dog lover and always had dogs growing up, but my two shelties were the best. I never thought I'd have a favorite breed of dog but because of them, shelties have won my heart. I saw the greatest bumper sticker and it is so true for me: "If it's not a Sheltie, it's just a dog".

I don't know how to download their picture so if someone can help, I would love to post that as well.

(P.S. Thanks for the Pet Memorial Thread)

It's ok. I heard, when I was just born, my family's cute puppy died on my birth. (July 20,1995) I saw a picture of him and he was so cute! Sorry about your Shelties.

I am soo sorry. I am like that with my toy fox terrier, Tatertot. I can't walk by her picture and not cry about it. My parents had a sheltie when they were married and I remember looking at his picture and wishing I could have seen him.

I am so sorry

I am so sorry about the loss of your dogs. I too have lost two dogs in a shrot period of time. I lost my beloved poodle, Mandy, on June 6 ,2006 at the age of 13. Then, unexpectedly lost my Bichon, Shashi, on July 25, 2006 at the young age of 3. I still cry every day because I miss them so much.

I just got back from having my beloved St Bernard, Erin, put to sleep. I am sick to the point where my head is pounding and I feel like I could puke. She had bone cancer and I know I did the right thing but it does not help the pain any. If it helps any, they don't suffer. She just fully relaxed and closed her eyes. It's more painful for us, the owners, but we know in our hearts we are doing the right thing. Someone on here told me to think of my dog and not myself and I have had that thought in my mind since I read it. She was in a lot of pain and there was no cure. I truely sympathize with you. You are in my prayers with Erin and please, don't let your baby boy suffer anymore than he has to.
