Question Hair Loss?

Hello everyone.
Well, I have a 7 month old Pomeranian/Spitz mix. For the past couple of weeks, she has been scratching horribly. The fleas are getting really bad, but she's beginning to lose hair around her right eye. It doesn't seem to be losing much anymore, but it's kind of scabby-looking. I'm not too sure of what it might be. It's really worrying me and I wasn't sure if too many fleas were capable of doing this.
Thanks(:

Re: Hair Loss?

First off with all the flea remedies out there your dog should NOT have fleas esp. when most are inexpensive like capstar. This is standard dogs 101 stuff. If you know they're "getting really bad" why would you want your dog to sufferlike that.. It can also affect your self your kids and other pets in the house. Fleas HAVE GOT TO GO! What you're permitting is just irresponsible.

Second one of the first telltale signs of mange is hair loss around the eyes, face then down to the trunk. YES fleas could cause hair loss as well as skin infections, allergic reactions, worms, and a myriad of other ailments. You need to get the fleas off your dog, treat your house and yard THEN the vet can make a determination as to whether or not the hair loss is from another source.
