| Re: Ban List Well first of all, it's NOT a public forum, it's PRIVATELY owned. Second, there are things such as personal information that we do NOT share. That would include your email address (yes people can email you IF you chosse allow it, but it's through the forum and they never see your email address) IP address and other things a hacker or spammers could use. We also do not publicize why we ban people. Honestly that's between us and the banned person and not the business of the rest of the membership. |

Keep in mind that this forum is publicly-accessible but privately-owned. The owners decide what policies will be best for the forum and its members and publicly outing banned members doesn't fall into that category.
Edit: Carla, we gotta stop meeting like this. |

You don't have to be a member to access the forum. I wasn't trying to start anything, I just thought it was kinda a silly thing to say is all. |

| Re: Ban List I honestly just don't see the point. If the wide majority of members that are banned are spammers then I don't see why the regulars really care one way or another to know the reason of why a member that they more likely haven't even seen a post from is banned. I certainly don't.
And in the rare occurrence that a regular is banned...then most of the other regulars probably know somewhat the reason anyway or at least can guess by reading past posts. *shrug*
Just doesn't make much sense to me one way or another to have a complete list and the reasons why someone is banned. Just my 2 cents. |

I've had several good friends and mentors that were banned for various reasons. Within a few minutes of PMing others on the board I was able to find out exactly what happened. |

The list of banned members would be long. Im willing to bet 9/10 would be for Spam not for anything else. Thats just based off the few banned members I have seen in my short time. |

For every spammer you see, there are dozens that you never see, since we delete every trace of their sad, short lives on the forum. |

Though I do wonder sometimes...gee I haven't seen "so and so" for a while? But curiousity is not always a good thing to be sated. |

And sometimes everything is deleted, making threads kind of nonsensical. How do you guys determine what gets deleted? |

| Re: Ban List We delete posts that may be offensive due to languge or personal insults (name calling). if here is an emergency such as a really virulent troll we will occasionally use the quick ban we use for spammers which deletes the offensive post and bans the member at the same time. We may not delete all a banned members posts if they've been here for a long period of time or have a high post count as it would be a huge amount of work. This may be what you're seeing. I try to clean up a thread so it flows well, but that can be hard to do especially if the post in question has been quoted by several members as we also have to clean those responses as well. This is why it's best NOT to respond to an offensive post, but just to report it and move on.

I was really talking about the 'rewards' of moderating. Although Troll fighting can be pretty fun at times, makes me like Don Quixote tilting Wind Mills
