Signature size changed?

I've been noticing a lot of HUGE siggies lately...has the maximum size changed? It makes reading threads a PITA to have these huge signatures have to load and then bump out the required width of the page.

I'm proud of my dogs too and, believe me, I can use a lot of screen real estate to make a signature, but I managed to fit them all into the size requirements. Surely people with a fraction of the dogs I have can do the same.

eta: I just checked my control panel and it says:
Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 500 by 100 pixels or 64.0 KB (whichever is smaller).

I guess it's just not being policed anymore. A shame.

The size has not changed, and they are "policed". If the mods missed something, well, dookie happens, and sometimes it's more important.
