| Performance/Show Dog Section? I think it would be a good idea to make a section for performance or show dogs. It would be nice for swapping tips and helping people new to the show dog world. There are so many different types of dog related activities that could be addressed in this type of section: agility, conformation, obedience, rally, flyball, herding, etc... |

| Re: Performance/Show Dog Section? If I remember right, there was a suggestion not to long ago (I think it was made by Keechak) regarding something similar to this that went under consideration. The idea was for a 'Dog Sports' section with possible subforums for all the popular sports (including Show).
Hopefully it goes though, I think it sounds like a great idea |

| Re: Performance/Show Dog Section? I don't think it'd have a substantial amount of traffic if broken into a whole bunch of subforums. Just IMO. I wouldn't mind a sport forum though for sport type discussions to be separate from, well.. barking and housebreaking.. haha. |

Id like to see dogs that are actually doing something here! I love reading how many of us are actually doing things with our dogs outside of normal pet ownership. |

| Re: Performance/Show Dog Section? I think that's a great idea as well! I always have to sort through the training threads to find anything about agility or obedience which those are training too but they're more about the sport aspect as they get more serious. Actually I've noticed a lot of us are interested in dog sports. |

| Re: Performance/Show Dog Section? I know this is old, but I still pine for a Dog Sports section. There's one massive agility thread in the training section, and I honestly think that's evidence enough that a Sports section would get used. It's super unwieldy, and it's hard digging through barking and housebreaking threads to find information on agility. And I know lots of members participate in lots of different events (including conformation) and right now a lot of that information is split across several sections. One Dog Sports section would consolidate the information to make it easier to find, use, and share. |

| Re: Performance/Show Dog Section? Agreed. A Show/Sports section would be awesome.
I feel like they never really change the format around here, though, so I don't know if it will ever go through. Perhaps we can contact the admins directly? (Since Mods can't do that kind of stuff) |

Hi Dave,
I understand that you're the owner of this board, so I figured I'd come directly to you with this suggestion (I don't know how many of the threads in the Suggestion Forum are actually read).
There is a fair amount of interest in the addition of a Show/Performance Dog section here on Dog Forums. While there is already a Training Forum, it is dominated by threads about behavior and training issues. Questions about dog shows, sports training, and the like kind of get lost in the confusion. Some (including some of my own) have even been posted in the General Forum.
If possible, I (and many other members) hope that you would consider adding a special forum for these topics so that show dog enthusiasts could have a place to converge here on the boards. There are not many forums out there dedicated to this topic, and it would be nice to discuss performance training and events with our friends here.
Thanks,
Samantha

| Re: Performance/Show Dog Section? I have to agree with this. As someone who is starting both agility and Weight pulling, I would be checking and posting in this area a lot... |

| Re: Performance/Show Dog Section? .. and obedience. We all have questions and idea on how to get a good Drop on Recall with a fast come to front after the drop.. or how you train your dog to do a go out.. etc.
Another nice thing about such a forum is it would introduce people to other dog sports they might never have considered doing or tht they know nothing about such as Earth Dog. |

| Re: Performance/Show Dog Section? I would love this. I think I want to get into Obedience in the future as well as weight pulling and possibly even agility. It would be great to have a forum where you could ask questions, post tips, everything else everyone has said.

| Re: Performance/Show Dog Section? Did you get a response from admin?
I wish changes could be made quicker as well, though I know the admins aren't overly active. Too bad mods can't make some of the simpler modifications. |
