not seeing posts

Lately, I can't see messages that have been posted. It will say there are 8 in a thread, but then only 2 are shown.

Are you sure you're not seeing that the thread was VIEWED by 8 and only 2 have posted to it?

This thread, for example, has been viewed by 5 but responded to by 1 (counting me.)

Otherwise, you have enterd the Twilight Zone.

Oh, at age 45...I am definitely in the computer twilight zone. This machine has a mind of it's own, I'm convinced.
Thanks for your post. I'm not looking at the "viewed" column. There seems to be a delay of some kind. It is frustrating when you are waiting for an answer to a question. I couldn't see, for example, your advice about my puppy's poop problem yesterday (thanks, by the way and she is fine). I had to look under "printable version" to see responses.
It all catches up after a couple of days, but the delay just makes reading the forums a little tedious.

Computers are pack rats, and some are worse than others. Information about what threads you've already viewed, etc are stored as 'cookies.' Sometimes they save all the old versions of pages you've already looked at. ("Oh, you want to look at the dog poop thread? Well, hey, I can save some time. I still have that stored from two days ago, so here ya are.") That's supposed to speed up performance, but it can make you think you're in the Twilight Zone or experiencing some kind of time warp.

You might try a couple of things. When you're on a page that you suspect is not up-to-date, try refreshing the page to see if you get a newer version. You can also try deleting the cookies under the tools > Internet options command. This will basically clean house get rid of the old cached versions of the stuff you've looked at. It will probably delete your user name and password as well, so make sure you have them to re-enter before you delete any cookies.

Things like this can make you feel stupid, but don't let it get to you.

I hope everything 'came out' okay with your puppy's poop problem.
