I have another one.....v. People Viewing.

Sorry, but in the mornings I refuse to do actual work so I come up with ideas :

Is it possible to see who is viewing a thread while you are in it? Lets say Im having a debate with someone and it goes back and forth for about 10 minutes. The person has some things to take care of and I end up sitting in the forum, hitting the refresh button, and waiting for a reply If I could just see that the person's name is no long in the thread I could just leave.

What do you think?

We could but that puts an unneccesary load on the server. I've seen a few forums that have this feature, but I think it's better to just subscribe to a thread and get emails when someone has made a reply.

Re: I have another one.....v. People Viewing.

You can look at the little spherical icon in the lower left corner of a person's post to see if that person is currently logged on to the dogs forum (though it won't tell you if they are currently viewing a particular thread or forum.)

If the green light is on, that member is logged in. If the red light is on, the person is not logged in (but you should not jump to any conclusions about what else that person could possibly be doing.)

Some people choose, in their profiles, to be invisible because they are embarrassed to be spending 21 hours each day on the dog forums. Personally, I am too old to be embarrassed by things like that.
