| Are Dog Forum members allowed to discuss other forums? Hi,
I would be interested to know if Dog Forum members are allowed to chat about non-related pet forums. I have tried to start friendly discussions of non-related forums on about half a dozen other pet forums but my posts have always been deleted and I have been told that if I discuss non-related forums again I will be banned from the site. They seem to consider disussing other forums "advertising", though I'm not trying to advertise my own forum (I haven't got one anyway) - all I'm trying to do is chat about other pet forums with people, mainly to see if they have heard about them and what they think of them. I am NOT trying to say that I like these other forums better than I like Dog Forums, so don't think that!
Before trying to begin a discussion I thought I'd better ask if it is alright, but I'm not expecting it to be, seeing how my idea has been received on other sites. The forum I want to discuss with other members on Dog Forum is an American site too, so I thought that as Dog Forums is American that it might be a bit more sympathetic - the forum covers all kinds of pets such as cats, rabbits, birds, reptiles and does include dogs but only as one of many topics.
I hope to hear back from you soon.
Regards,
Bark |

| Re: Are Dog Forum members allowed to discuss other forums? Since this forum can be read by anyone, and the opinions expressed on this forum can be assumed to be our own, no, you may not start topics to discuss other forums, or the goings-on of other forums. |

| Re: Are Dog Forum members allowed to discuss other forums? Actually, If I wanted to discuss another forum I would go to another forum. I dont see the point of it.
And as for the sympathetic part..America is a melting pot of so many cultures and nationalities. I have seen posts from all over the world here. So why would you think that would play a part?.........no need to answer that...just think about it. |

| Re: Are Dog Forum members allowed to discuss other forums? From one of your last threads, I was under the impression that you wanted your account deleted.
As for other forums I agree with Digits Mama If I wanted to discuss a different forum, I would go to that forum and discuss it there. |

| Re: Are Dog Forum members allowed to discuss other forums? I often post a link to a epilepsy site and email list in my posts regarding seizures..... and I believe I have directed folks to a site specific to large parrots where they could get their questions answered, is that a problem????

| Re: Are Dog Forum members allowed to discuss other forums? Hi Bark,
It seems to me (and this is just my opinion) that you like to start trouble. 90% of your threads are not dog related - hence the name dogforum. I agree with Rone "It's a bit like going on a date and then talking about someone else that you've dated". I'm not sure where you're going with this but I'm not here to judge so good luck finding a site that meets your needs! |
